About the campaign

The International Platform for Sport and Development (sportanddev) is coordinating a global campaign: Reshaping Sport and Development in collaboration with a number of key partners.

The campaign aims to promote, strengthen and sustain the sport and development sector. In particular, the campaign aims to address inequities exacerbated by the COVID pandemic in order to drive change toward a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable sport and development sector.

In the midst of this crisis, there is an opportunity to,

• to advocate for the role of sport in the COVID-19 fight.
• Of better reconstruction for all.
• To ensure that sport better serves everyone in society.
• invest in the sustainability of organizations and infrastructure.

Campaign activities and achievements

In 2020, sportanddev coordinated efforts to refocus sport and development. Now is the time to move from reimagining to redesigning sport and development to ensure that no one is left behind.

The campaign aims to achieve the following outcomes:

• A more inclusive, accessible, and equitable sport and development sector
• Identification of key issues and actions for reshaping sport and development
• Greater community involvement in setting plans and priorities for the sector
• Updating the sportanddev website to better serve all stakeholders
