Mini Van Tour visits Bileća as part of the "Game Changers" project
On Friday, November 8th, the Mini Van Tour (MVT) visited city of Bileća as part of the Game Changers – Promoting Human Rights and Equality through Sports initiative, funded by the European Union. Over 150 students from Petar II Petrović Njegoš Elementary School, along with their teachers and parents, took part in this event. The activities were held in collaboration with the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reinforcing the importance of working together to promote inclusion and positive social change.
Sport as a driver of social change
Mini Van Tour is an innovative community-based activity created by fairplay and Igrajmo Zajedno Inicijativa (IZI). Launched in 2018, it has since visited more than 30 cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, and Austria. The goal of Mini Van Tour is to promote inclusion and drive positive social change through sports activities.
As always, Mini Van Tour provided a valuable opportunity for children to learn about teamwork, equality, and fair play through sports. The event featured a range of sports stations, including streetkick, micro soccer, sitting volleyball, football techniques, and volleyball drills. These stations gave children the chance to have fun, develop new skills, and connect with each other through play.
Each station applied fair play principles, ensuring that children, regardless of age, gender, or other characteristics, had equal opportunities to participate. Boys and girls engaged together in all activities, highlighting the importance of gender equality and inclusion in sports.
About the Game Changers project
Game Changers is an initiative focused on using sport as a tool to drive social change in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project targets young people, especially vulnerable groups, with the aim of overcoming social barriers and discrimination. It promotes inclusion, gender equality, and a deeper understanding between different sections of society.
The project includes a variety of activities such as workshops, tournaments, and capacity-building seminars, all designed to empower marginalized groups and strengthen community cohesion. The slogan of the project, "Changing the Game", reflects the goal of setting new standards for promoting positive values through sport.
The Game Changers is implemented by the fairplay initiative (VIDC) from Austria, alongside local organizations Igrajmo Zajedno Inicijativa (IZI) and Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Taking steps toward a more inclusive society
The Mini Van Tour in Bileća was more than just an opportunity for children to have fun and learn about human rights through sport. It was one more step in achieving the goals of the Game Changers project – fostering a society that is more inclusive, equal, and ready for change. Activities like Mini Van Tour have a powerful impact on young people, helping them build essential life skills and values, while inspiring them to become “game changers” – leaders in driving positive social change.
