SOS Balkanroute - Fund raising, 12.2.23
Fund raiser and panel discussion: Insights into the work of local helpers at the EU external borders
Brunnenpassage 71, Yppenplatz, 1160 Wien
Collecting donations: 13-19 h
Panel with Baba Asim: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Asim, one of the local helpers* of SOS Balkan Route, exclusively reports about his support for refugees on the Balkan Route. A transgenerational exchange about flight, war, racism and the situation at the EU external borders.
SOS Balkan Route calls again for a collection campaign for refugees! For the fourth winter in a row, we are already in action against forgetting about the people at the EU external borders and organize emergency supplies for refugees that are essential for survival. 57 transports with donations in kind to Bosnia and Serbia could already be realized. With your winter jackets, shoes and old cell phones lives can be saved!
Asim, who knows and survived war himself, distributes the sleeping bags, sweaters and tents donated by you to the people on the run. They are at the Bosnian-Croatian border without supplies and at the mercy of the border guards. Asim has made his store a hotspot of humanity, where solidarity takes place.
On the panel: Asim Karabegović, local helper of the SOS Balkan Route; Noomi Anyanwu, Black Voices People's Initiative; Vedran Džihić, political scientist; Christine Franz, activist:in the SOS Balkan Route / Moderation: Emilija Ilić
