Webinar: Sport & Human Rights, 10.11.22

Sport inspires people all over the world. Millions of spectators cheer on major events such as World Championships and Olympic Games. The sporting events have long since become a billion-dollar business. However, human rights often fall by the wayside. For example, sporting events lead to the exploitation of migrant workers or the forced relocation of local communities.

The webinar, which is offered jointly by Amnesty International Austria and the fairplay initiative, shows the connection between human rights and sport. On the one hand, we will look at the situation in Austria and, on the other hand, at major international events, such as the upcoming football World Cup in Qatar or the Olympic Games. We will also discuss possible solutions to the current challenges.
