Grand finale of the fairplay action weeks 2023
In the Austrian Football League, SK Austria Klagenfurt, FC Blau-Weiss Linz and SC Austria Lustenau are carrying out campaigns at their home matches this coming weekend. This means that all 12 clubs are actively involved in the fairplay action weeks 2023 - thank you!
But also in the other leagues the action against hate and hatred continues. In the 2nd division, SV Ried, First Vienna FC + FC Dornbirn are setting an example. FC Admira will finish off against SV Lafnitz on 3 November. As always, there was strong social media support from the Women's Bundesliga for the fair play campaigns at the clubs. On 28 October, LUV Graz will play at home against SKV Altenmarkt. And there will also be a nice finale in the 2nd division at the beginning of November: The women of the Wiener Sport-Club will organise a charity match with a collection campaign for and together with SOS Balkanroute. More information about the collection campaign and the required items can be found here.
It also continues in the amateur sector. On National Day, FC Nenzing dedicates its cup match against Hohenems to the fight against hate and hatred, FC Mariahilf Damen organise a charity tournament. At the weekend, FC Gratkorn, SC Wolfsthal and WSV St. Lambrecht join in with their own banner.

Commitment with moving images
At the end of last week, the fairplay initiative received some pleasant notifications. Videos about the fairplay action week popped up on the social media channels! SK Rapid and FAC put their own videos online, in which players, coaches and support staff with our action cards stood in front of the camera and behind the common cause, SK Vorwärts Steyr reported on the joint training of the fighting team with the SKV-pro-mente inclusion team.
For the first time, the fairplay initiative offered the clubs to create graphic templates in club colours and with club coats of arms, with which they could produce the materials themselves at their own expense. Some clubs took up the offer and ran onto the field with their own banners, such as SK Austria Klagenfurt, FAC, WSV St. Lambrecht, FC Austria 11 Rapid Oberlaa, SV Alkoven. And, as every year, clubs and individuals also took part without registering, "which we are of course very happy about," says Markus Pinter, coordinator of the fairplay action weeks. "That's how it should be, that associations and initiatives get involved on their own, even without our involvement. We are happy to provide everyone with our campaign materials free of charge, but we also make the graphics and text templates available for download on our homepage."
An overview and a selection of the campaigns in the first three weeks can be found on our fairplay Instagram channel.

Background
Clubs and initiatives in Austria have been called upon by the fairplay initiative to join forces against hate and hatred and for a diverse and open society. From the action week banner on the website or the banner on match day to the social media post to your own event: you can participate with small and large actions and thus set an example. All materials are provided free of charge by fairplay.
The fairplay action weeks always have a focus for two years: in 2022 and 2023, we will dedicate ourselves to the fight against extremism in sport. The activities are coordinated by fairplay. The ÖFB and the Austrian Football League support the campaign, and it is made possible by the City of Vienna - Bewegung findet Stadt, the Austrian Ministry of Sport and the European Commission (Erasmus+).
