Nachspielzeit - KURIER's football podcast with fairplay

Should football fans boycott the World Cup in Qatar? Kurt Wachter is a guest on the Kurier podcast.

The Men's World Cup is about to kick off in Qatar. A major event that was already highly controversial on many levels a decade before kickoff. Corruption in the awarding process, a lack of infrastructure, and cultural hurdles were denounced right from the start. In addition, there was exploitation on the World Cup construction sites, human rights violations, and a lack of transparency.

An unknown number of workers are said to have died under questionable circumstances in the run-up to the World Cup in Qatar.

Not least for these reasons, many sports fans - especially in Europe - are simply not looking forward to this year's football spectacle. Many are now considering boycotting the World Cup. But would that make a difference?

In episode 104 of the KURIER Nachspielzeit, our division manager Kurt Wachter is guest in the podcast studio. He speaks on behalf of our project "Our Game for Human Rights," which has set itself the task of educating people about the World Cup in Qatar and the background.
